In January 2006, CRC SA (Pty) Ltd established a joint venture company called AddClin Research (Pty) Ltd with Adcock Ingram Healthcare (Proprietary), to expand its existing Phase I unit from a 13-bed ward to 36 beds.
AddClin Research conducts Phase I and other studies requiring patients to stay over in the expanded ward. The Phase 1 unit is located at 178 Watermeyer Street, Meyerspark, Pretoria, South Africa. (Insert hyperlink to Map)
Synexus Clinical Research SA (Synexus SA) is a site and trial management organisation that was established in August 2000 and contracted its first clinical trial in September 2000.
Synexus SA has since conducted several trials and other related activities for local and International Pharmaceutical Companies and Contract Research Organisations in a number of therapeutic areas.
The Phase I Unit at Synexus SA (with 13 beds) was established in 2002 and has subsequently conducted several bio-studies for European and FDA registration.
Adcock Ingram an established manufacturer of generics was interested in joining forces with Synexus SA:
- To have a stability, of placing the Research and Development of their new pipeline products with one facility / organisation.
- To have access to a phase 1 unit and a core group of well, trained staff to perform phase 1 Bioequivalence studies.
AddClin Research offers clinical research development services to the pipeline of new innovative products from Adcock Ingram Healthcare Limited as well as for Synexus SA’s existing sponsors, including pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The expanded phase 1 unit will enhance the delivery of high quality cost-effective clinical development to clients.
South Africa provides access to volunteers in a cost-effective setting, thereby enabling us to efficiently recruit and screen these participants for clinical studies.
Due to the experience of the existing Phase 1 core team, AddClin Research offers an excellent platform for accelerated growth as a leading Phase 1 Unit and is ready to take on the global challenges.
Confidentiality
You as sponsor and volunteer can rest assured that at AddClin Research you are protected through a stringent Confidentiality policy:
- Precaution is taken to preserve confidentiality of the sponsor’s property.
- Employment contracts and/or signing of confidentiality agreements include a written undertaking by all employees to respect and uphold confidentiality pertaining to research projects contracted.
- AddClin Research has its own confidentiality and financial disclosure statement.
